The service has been enabled through a strategic partnership between the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), Qatar National Bank (QNB), and Japanese payment gateway NETSTARS.
This initiative is poised to transform trade and commerce between India and Qatar, while further strengthening bilateral trust and cooperation. During FY 2024–25, India’s bilateral trade with Qatar reached USD 14.14 billion, a figure expected to grow further as both nations deepen collaboration through such digital initiatives.

“The launch of UPI and UPI transactions is not just a digital payment solution but has the potential to revolutionize trade between Qatar and India.
